Had to switch wafers and everything. Seems the Convatec tape was killing my skin. Nurse changed me to Coloplast. When i first got those things i had NO idea what i was doing. ha  Once i figured it out they seem to work fine. They don't have any tape around the edges and thats helping me get my skin back to normal. Not to mention it's been on for 4 days and still seems fine.
And if it can handle all the jumping around i've done in the last few days with the Red Sox, it just might work out. about time.

Good, I like the Coloplast and hope it works for you.

My only concern with the coloplast was that they didn't have a size to fit my odd shaped stoma, and I never was able to cut them exactly right so I always had a little sore skin around my stoma. Hope you can work out whatever "bugs" you may have.

Let us know how it goes when you change it as far as the skin around your stoma.

I like Coloplast! I beleive they are the only company that makes a two-piece stoma cap. Convatec makes a one-peice cap but I have to pull everything off just to wear. I like to cap my stoma when I want some "married private time." Hollister does not even make a cap! The only reason I am staying with Hollister is b/c I can cut the top of the wafer off so I can wear my exercise shorts and show my tummy when I run. I cannot cut the top of the wafer off the Coloplast. When I tried, the whole wafer would not stick to my skin.

I am glad your skin is doing better! Let me know how many days you get out of the Coloplast. I think I got 4 days total which is really good for me. I rarely ever get 4 days. Are you using he Assura Extended Wear Coloplast?

So Amey, not to invade your "private time", but does the cap work? I'm not sure what i'm wearing actually. I had an appiontment with my surgeon who then called the ostomy nurse down to check me out again.
They came to the decision it was the tape bothering my skin. The Coloplast one don't have that tape. Kinda looks like a little cup. It's been working well. I've also been using the belt, so that helps.
Skin doesn't look great, but better.
But anyway, does that cap work ok? Can ya get butt naked and have some fun without the worry?
I know i know those pics would be big $$$$ haha
I'm sure i'll have this bad coming off by the end of the Sox game tomorrow.

Oh, Slice...I would love to chat with you. I'll put a picture of me with my stoma cap on photobucket.....NOT! To answer you question, the cap worked well. I do not produce anything in my bag until about 4pm so I can go along time with just the cap on. However, I can tell that if I did have some output, it would not hold much.

Off for a bike ride....have a great day!

That was pretty much what i was wondering. If there was output does the cap hold much. I've always gone with what my nurses told me what would be good. Never really looked at a catalog or anything. Not sure whats out there.
