I would Just like to thank all of you for your kind words of support regarding my father and the difficult time he is having with his ileostomy.  I have contacted the local mental health team and they have come out and assesed him as having severe depression due to the surgery etc.  He has started anti-depressant tablets and doing calming dowm exercises known as the Callahan technique.  This seems to be calming him down now so only time will tell. Once again thank you all very much.
