Using Trimix

Per syringes, I use the 31 gauge 5/16 inch BD insulin syringes - they don't bother me the way the 30 gauge 1/2 inch needles did.

With Trimix standard, dosage wise, I've gone from 1 ml to 1.7ml to 2.5 ml to 3.3 ml. 3.3ml did the trick although there is a fair amount of aching pain which I am hoping is simply from getting to form. I have not combined ed pills with this, which from what I am reading, may allow me to lower the trimix dosage. Longevity was for about an hour tops.

600hplighting, Welcome to the Forum. How about telling us something about yourself and your journey?

Trimix and Bimix appears to cost about the same nationwide. Figure around $97 per 5ml vial of 30/1/20 Trimix and $60 per 5ml vial of 30/1 Bimix. Ask your local pharmacy if there's a compounding pharmacy near. Outside the US, I suppose you check locally and ask around. Here's a list of ones used by the guys here:

I think my trimix ran at about $112 in the DC area. I finally hit my correct number at .35 ml. Trimix; worked perfectly which is fabulous as whenever my nerve bundle recovers is all but irrelevant. I can now say within 3 months from surgery that I've gone the full cycle in returning to what will probably be as close to normal as I will get. Continence is probably now about 85% recovered. This is a beautiful thing! Now to deal with our next blizzard!

I just injected my boyfriend, Michael, his first dose of Trimix. I was so nervous... I didn't want to make a mistake but unfortunately, I did. Instead of injecting 0.10ml. I injected 1.0 ml. He didn't realize I made a mistake, though. It was only later when we were having dinner at a restaurant, and I asked him what he was feeling, that he asked me how much did I put in the syringe. He said he wondered why it took me so long to finish. When I told him I withdraw 1.0ml and injected what was in the the whole syringe, he said, "no wonder I am in so much pain". Oh my God! He really must be in pain. He said the pain is up to his butt and it's like he couldn't touch his penis.

I couldn't sleep now. I am still here browsing what would happen to him because of what I did. He is really a very good man. He didn't get angry with me nor berate me for what happened. he just said, he should have checked what I was doing because when he did it before (unsuccessfully though coz he couldn't withdraw blood) it was just done so fast (while mine took like forever!)

Please, good men out there.... tell me what will I do? What will happen to him? I didn't really read the vial carefully. When I saw the numbers, I didn't even check if it was a .05 or .5 to be perfectly sure. I am so sorry for what I did.

it is best to have SUDAFED on hand - from behind the pharmacy counter - not the regular stuff - that will help bring the erection down.

did he have a full erection at dinner out at a restaurant -= I would have expected him to decline going out if he was a full mast.

if his erection has not gone down in 4 hours - take him to a hospital - and they will treat it - you do not want to have permanent damage to his member.

Wow, you are named after my 'idol' = Charles Bronson Thank you for your advice.

I don't have a faintest idea if he had an erection when we were in the restaurant.... he just said he was in pain. He took me home and returned to his house also. He just wanted to go home and sleep.I couldn't blame him.

This morning, he said he was fine and was at work ... so probably the pain subsided already. Anyway, I thank God, I didn't KILL him of overdose! I should have read something about this procedure first before administering the injection. I was so stupid.

I am surprised that some Drs are giving out an RX for Trimix or Bimix and not directing patients to a compound pharmacy to get that filled.

Mine is extremely efficient, in fact aside from completely taking care of the faxing in of my RX to a compounding pharmacy, he even provided the auto-injector, detailed instructions and had a nurse provide a demo on a rubber penis and had me do it repeatedly until I got the process right

Sounds sad that so many people here are given only a tiny bit of info from their docs on how to administer these drugs.

On last post, sounds like there is a little confusion. The doctor calls in the RX to a compound pharmacy. Trimix has a relatively short shelf life and should be frozen. Can't speak for others, but I received detailed intructs from the doctor and I had to do a live injection, albeit with water, not trimix.

Sounded like you were posting an address in VA to locate Trimix. If a Dr were calling it in , I suspect the Dr would tell you where that was and a patient would not need to post looking for a compound pharmacy

I am not sure it is a great idea to freeze a vial, to get medication out for a dose one would need to de-freeze the entire vial. I suppose one could fill syringes and freeze them. 5 ml goes pretty fast if one used 3 -4 doses a week

Shelf life of a refrigerated vial of Trimix is 90 days, I believe it is still good after that but may lose its potency

Hi PCa Survivor,

Every Dr is different, mine says I can go up to 4 times a week. I stopped using the VED when I started Trimix

I have been using Timix 3-4 times a week for the past 5 months, no sign of any problems. My usage pattern is usually 3 days in a row, then 4 days off. There are even some times when I do a morning then an evening dosage. The Doc sees me every 2 months to examine that there are no problems starting, so far all is perfect, straight as an arrow

Foers Pharmacy is adamant about freezing trimix. Defrost takes less than 10 min. Every source says it lasts longer than the posted 1 1/2 months. If it is clear it is good. Freezing has been fine for me. Beats me.

I had my 18 month follow up yesterday with the specialist who fixed my ongoing stricture problem. I had already posted my PSA - 0 the other day. The doc said he was very pleased that I was urinating freely and was not incontinent with the exception of cough or sneeze. He said being this far out he doubts I will scar/stricture back. However he said they do not have real good studies about long term follow up after bladder neck stricture repair. Which is why he has me entered in the study. David I did mention your case to him and he was very interested and said definitley the radiation damage has complicated things. We then discussed the ongoing ED concern. Have tried Cialis, Viagra, and Levitra over the last year. Not much happens wtih any of them except the side effects. I have been using a VED for a year and a half. He ask if I wanted to try MUSE I said I don't want anything that goes in the urethra. I am like you David after all the caths and stuff shoved up there I don't want to take a chance. He ask how I felt about injections. I said I wanted to try. He likes using Trimix. So he gave me a shot of .25 ml of the good stuff and WOW 10 -15 minutes there was Mr. Happy! I sat there in my wheelchair for another 15-20 minutes when he came in gave me a script for Trimix and pseudofed. Ask if I had any place in St. Louis I could go to kill a couple of hours and make sure it went down ( I live 3 1/2 hours south). Told him yes there were a few errands I needed to run. He said he shot another patient the day before who left for home 2 hours away and he got home and had to return that same day due to Priapism. I stopped at the pharmacy on the first floor and got some pseudophed (where I live they have passed city ordinance you can't buy it over the counter with out script due to Meth cookers. So with my pseudo and Mr Happy off I went. about hour and a half and still good wood I took 90 mg of pseudo and after 30 minutes all was good. He gave me compound pharmacy in St. Louis but they wanted $150-175 to ship me a vila and i would have to pay up front and hope my inusrance would reimburse. I called my insurance company and the ask my zip and found a compound pharmacy 70 mile south of me who is in my plan. Called them and they said yes to fax the script to them and they would fill it for me and I pay $30 copay SWEET! The best part is my sister is a pharmaceutical sales rep and lives in the town and the pharmacist knows her and she can pick it up put it in her cooler with the insulin she sells and deliver it tom when she calls on docs up this way. I am looking forward to having my own bottle of the golden serum. Sorry about this being so long but I am a HAPPY CAMPER! Kbars

After having a massive heart attack and precribed drugs with beta blockers viagra or cialis didn't work anymore for me. Asked my heart docotor if he knew of any doctor who specialized in ED. I knew about trmix injections btw.
He gave me his name and three weeks later had an appointment. After having a blood test .prostate checked and a penile dopler he started out with 40 units trimix-erection was good but not great- increased to 45 and then 50. Fifty units work great giving me about a two hour erection.

I forgot to write in my original post my first experience with trimix was September 2009 and have been using it ever since at least twice a week.
My doctor charges 175.00 for a bottle of trimix and I get at least 10 to 12 uses out of it.
He charged me 1.00 each for the syringes but I was lucky enough to get my heart doctor to write a script for the syringes and got 100 for 28.00 Syringe brand

I use a BD inject-ease auto injector.
I am lucky my girl friend came with me to the ED doctor and he showed her where to inject-I tried to do it myself three times and missed the site each and every time.

Question: I have been using trimix and getting about 80% there so I had the doc up the strength. I am upto about .8 ml again and still not a full monte for but 20 min or so, if that. Is anyone dosing this high? Thx

then you can dramatically reduce the amount of medication you use and get a 100% or close to it success rate

Constricting the blood flow out of the penis allows the injected medication to be absorbed into both chambers. If you do not constrict then only one side will receive the medication and it will flow out to fast to really be that effective

As many have reported, Prior to injection, massage yourself to at least a semi erection, the more the better, but even a little helps, then use one hand to tighten the base of the penis preventing blood flow into AND out of the penis. Then with the free hand inject, then massage the penis with the free hand while still constricting the base. Total is 30 seconds to one minute. Here is where the auto - injector is invaluable as it is a one hand tool

Some guys use the VED put on the ring, then inject wait 1 minute and remove the ring
