I had the Davinci 10/12/2006 everything is going well. I just noticed after intercourse and ejaculation there was a clear slippery lubricant coming out of my penis. It was not white like the old days when it had sperm in it. It looked like the stuff that used to come out before intercourse clear and slick. Anybody else had this happen, is it normal?

That is lubricant - or what we call pre-cum- from the Cowper's gland which is inside your penis. Surgery did not affect the Cowper's gland at all. So, you are perfectly normal and healthy and your body is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Now, some men have always produced more of this than others. Some men produce so little they've never even seen it before. Others will produce copious amounts. Gee, anatomy class comes in handy. I did ask my surgeon about this at my very first talk about surgery. He assured me the production of that substance would not be affected.

This is a very interesting posting!  I had proton radiation treatment rather than surgery--my semen appears to be a very clear slippery liquid too.  I had never really focused on this before, but I believe that radiaiton treatment should produce about the same results as surgery as relates to the production of semen as we know it, because the prostate essentially becomes a worthless organ after radiation.  I have been happy that I am still producing some liquid as I expected to eventually have dry orgasms. Thanks for this helpful insight.

Thanks guys! It is good to know. I thought maybe I was a medical wonder and evrything was back cloning itself and woudl rejuvinate me to when I was 25. This is a great forum for help and answers. I tell everyone I come in contact with about it. I am still amazed at the number of guys I know personally that are dealing with prostate issues.

Hmmm, I have had no "pre-cum" after my prostatectomy. I had it noticeably beforehand. I always figured the lack of it now was due to the missing prostate :-\

Very interesting!  After one year I have not noticed any slippery liquid except perhaps some urine exit my penis.  My incontenence is OK now so I no longer have that issue.  I was wondering about the pre-cum and was hoping to continue to have it as it would make me feel that much more normal.  My wife use to enjoy the slippery stuff as I did but I surely have not seen any evidence of it.  I still cannot produce natural erections.  Stimulation when flacid to the point of climax has not produced the liquid nor has stimulation when erect using trimix. Perhaps additional or a different kind of stimulation is required.  I don't know how much more I can give.  I'll keep a closer watch now that I have hope. I have not tried oral but perhaps some experience out there can tell me if that would be an added stimulus. Thanks for the good news.

I remember the first time I saw the slippery liquid. I panicked and thought it might be semen light! My urologist set me straight though. 8 months post op I don't see it as much as I did in the beginning.
Diagnosed: March 25, 2007. Age 49
Biopsy: Gleason 6. Five of twelve samples positive with <5% each. No perineural invasion seen.
Surgery: May 21, 2007
Post-op Pathology: Upgraded to Gleason 7 (3+4), negative margins, negative capsular penetration, negative seminal vesicles, lymph nodes left intact, multifocal perinural invasion, 15% of prosate involving cancer in both lobes. T2c
Continence: Out of pads at five weeks. Seven months post-op I'm fully continent.
Erections: Yes! With the assistance of Cialis.
Post Surgery PSA: Three tests, all <0.1
Family history: Great-great grandfather died from PC. My Father had his prostate removed at age 67 in 1997 and has had an undetectable PSA ever since. I was diagnosed at a much earlier age and had a more agressive cancer than my father. Go figure.
