My pharmacist said that my Trimix should be stored in the freezer. This is the first time that I have heard this. For those using Trimix, what say you?

Also, I have heard that using a moderate viagra/ed dose along with Trimix allows you to lower your Trimix dose by quite a bit.

Let me know your thoughts on this. Thx.

Sorry if this seems abrupt, but I say it seems goofy to ask "people on the internet" about proper handling of medications...

Redman AKA Guffy:) I have heard of others freezing their dose in the seringe then thaw it out and inject. But I don;t know that for a fact. My Caverject is in the firdge till I need it. Have you had your first injection? How did it go. I am new to the needle myself and very happy with caverject.

Hi,

My 5ml of Trimix lasts 5-6 weeks so there is no need for me to freeze the vial, It stays good for 90 days refrigerated. I did speak to a patient once who said he filled syringes and froze them, I have never tried that though

I did ask my Dr about taking an oral med with the Trimix, and he said it defeats the purpose. The oral ED drug cost more than the decrease in Trimix dosage. As for performance, the oral ED drug increases blood flow to the penis which actually aids in flushing out the Trimix. In effect they cancel each other out

Not sure why one would freeze the vial itself, how would you fill the syringe if the medication were frozen ?

TRIMIX:  My story for what it is worth.

July 2008 was time for me to get a new prescription of Trimix.  My St. Louis supplier
had a batch made up with my compound  proportions and was asking $220 for a 10 ml bottle.

Not having insurance and making this known to the pharmacist I asked if there was a way to reduced the dollar cost.  She came back to me stating that since the current batch had only two weeks before being outdated she would reduce the price to $50 per 10ml bottle.  I accepted the offer, not only for the reduced dollar amount but also because I knew I would get much more use out of the Trimix then the two following weeks, as I have had very good use of this product well beyond the expiration dates when stored properly.

I went to pick up the Trimix, mentiioned my name to the attendant and she asked me to wait one moment.  After a brief time the pharmacist came to speak with me and said that she had my 10ml Trimix ready and was wondering if I might be interested in an additional deep frozen 10ml bottle of Trimix.  She explained that since the expiriation date was very close and could not sell the material beyond the date decided to give to me the frozen trimix if I wanted it. The pharmacist proceeded to give me her opinion on the Trimix compound use longevity when cared for properly.  Also, she had a high degree of confidence that the frozen mix would remain fresh and well useable after it was thawed out to a liquid.  Apparently, expiriation dates are basically set by the Federal Government because of cleanliness quality problems and has no bearing on the potency of the compound.  I accepted both 10ml bottles and gladly paid a purchase price of $50.turn

I continue to use my July 2008 Trimix with success but am nearing the end, so in a week or so I will thaw my frozen bottle of Trimix to a liquid and give it a try.  I'll keep you all posted on the results.  The frozen Trimix has now been in that state for 19 months so it will be interesting.yeah

FYI:  I keep my Trimix in the fridge (~40F) on the door top shelf just  beneath the top freezer.  When I prepare to inject, the bottle is removed - wiped with an alchohol swab - syrum extracted - alchohol wiped again and the placed back into fridge.  It literally is always kept cold, clean and only removed from the fridge for two munutes or less to keep its temperature stable.  When I travel, which was 4 to 5 trips over the last year, I pack the bottle in a zip lock bag and store it in a small zipped thermal case containing two freezer packs.  I usually place the case in the middle of the suitcase for insulation and isolation.

My URO says to never mix PDE5 with TRIMIX.  If you do, you may want to have Sudafed nearby.nono

Good luck,
Marc

Whatever you do, THAW IT OUT before you inject it!!!
My levity for the day

I use bimix, and if there is some left, I tend to use it past the 90 days expiration date (up to about a month or so). According to my pharmacist, if you keep it refrigerated continuously, you'll get longer than the 90 days -- where you have troubles is if you travel and allow it to warm up part of the time.
I never considered freezing it... I started purchasing 1/2 the amount (5 mils instead of 10) because I was wasting the larger dosage. I end up paying 50% more for the half dose (relatively speaking), but it is a better deal for me. The pharmacy agreed to supplying the smaller dosage, without needing to consult with my doc - that may be an option for you.

My Trimix came in a little 5 ml glass bottle. I would never freeze something stored in glass. I'd be afraid of breakage.
Mine is stored in the refrigerator. Ready for use.

Thanks guys. I have frozen mine and it thaws in about 10 minutes tops. I have gone through two zaps, first at .1 ml and then .17 ml. I'm still not all the way there yet. I would be curious as to what have been effective dosages per trimix. Thx in advance.

Welll we are all different and that's probably the advantage of this forum - to share our experience, strength and hope.

I've used Trimix for 2 1/2 years. It took lots of experimenting to get to what works for me. I take 50 mg Viagra (from ADC) and about 30 min later inject .05 ml Trimix. It stays up for an hour or so with no aches or pains. Using Viagra allows me to use a very small amount of Trimix and when it comes to injecting stuff into my tender part, I feel that less is better.

Using such a small amount of Trimix, my 5 ml vial lasts a long time. My current vial is nearly 18 months old now and is still potent with no sign of contamination.

My urologist started me on .1 ml of Trimix and it was way too much.  6 hour erection with lots of pain and aching.  We have to experiment starting small and working up to find the amount that works for us.  Most urologists and ED "specialists"  have not worn our shoes and practice "one size fits all" medicine.  We are all at different stages and rates of healing as well as having varying degrees of ED.  We have to take our recovery as well as our treatment into our own hands.

Redman,

if you get to 80% on Trimix, you are there, foreplay gets it the rest of the way, give it a try

12 weeks, is right out of the starting blocks, time will get you back to before PC. Problem is that performance on Trimix is so good, I may want to keep on it for a while and enjoy the ride , even after I get complete normal non-medicated erections back

To everyone reading this:

I am still confused on the issue of taking a PDE5 oral medication prior to injecting. I am injecting a Bimix, and I am sure that my Uro Doc said to take the Cialis 30-60 minutes before injecting. But, have stated that, I will tell you all that I still have considerable genital ache that begins about 15 minutes after injecting, and does not resolve for about 2-3 hrs, even after the erection has resolved spontaneously.

So, let us open up the discussion again about this subject. Have ED docs, or Urologist told others to refrain from using oral medications in conjunction with injectables??
Thanks

Redman,
Trimix:  I use 0.08cc for an 60% to 70% erection as a practice session.  I use 1.0cc to 1.2cc for an 80% or so erection for intercoursr or for a good feeling.  Stimulation during injection and a while later always gets me to my best.  Both erections usually last from 2-1/2 to 4 hours.

URO says not PDE5 usage with trimix.

Hi Clearwatercowboy,

My ED doc told me there was no need taking an oral ED drug with Trimix, it defeats the purpose. One wants the Trimix to stay in the penis as long as possible, increasing blood flow via PDE5 drugs increases blood flow thus flushing out the Trimix faster

Waste of money taking both

Hi: I am kind on my own (now I feel better with all these reading). I am still battling for the right way of using TRIMIX and the right dosage. My question is: Should I shoot my dosage of TRIMIX still cool or should I let it warm and for how long?
Thanks
