Ger, no expert but I'm wondering if what the CT scan is telling you is that it saw extraprostectic extension. I think Hero may be right in that there's a period missing somewhere.

We were lucky when my husband had his CT scan...the test was at 4:00, we were in the urologist's office at 5:00 and he had the results sitting on his computer and reviewed them with us right then and there.

Let us know how things go on the 10th...good luck.
Husband diagnosed in 2/2008 at age 57 with stage T1c. Robotic surgery performed 3/2008. Stage upgraded to T3a (solitary focus of extraprostatic extension). Perineural tumor infiltration present. Apex margin, bladder neck and SVs negative. Final Gleason 3+4. PSA: 0.0 til July 2009. August 2009 - 0.1, September 0.3, October back to 0.0, December 0.0, March 2010 0.0. Next PSA in 6 months. Thank you God!

Ger,

You have an enlarged prostate (not uncommon for a 68 year old).

You have calcium deposits of the prostate.  Prostatic calcifications, no matter what the pattern, do not increase the risk of prostate cancer. But their presence does not exclude the possibility of cancer.  Your calcium deposits occur along with (as an extension of) your prostate cancer foci on the right side.

Aortic calcification is deposits of calcium on the aorta (causing a narrowing of the flow through the aorta), and may be an early sign that you have heart disease, even if you don't have any other heart disease symptoms.

Ger, I am not a doctor.  Re-check my comments on May 10th with your urologist, and please let me know if I led you astray...I hope I did not.

best wishes...

Thanks for the comments. I'll let you know what the urologist says. I hope to catch my neighbor the doctor and have him look at the report.
