I had my 3rd PSA test today since having IMRT and seed implants last year. It's continuing to go down. It is now 2.42 as of today. I asked the nurse who was taking my blood sample what type of machine is used to analyze the samples. She didn't know. She said she only drew the blood and didn't know what happens to it after that. I'm unsure who I would ask at this point or if it matters. All of my follow up PSA tests have been done at the same place, Copley Hospital in Aurora, IL so I presume they are all done the same.

Hey fulltlt,

Down is a good thing....... I remember reading once that some study showed the longer it took to get to nadir (the lowest point you'll reach), the better. Don't know if that is true or not, but I know it can take more than a year for sure. As far as what machine they use to test the blood samples, it never occurred to me to ask! I've always had mine done at the same lab, but I'm not sure if that is really important or not.

Best.....
IMRT 1/07 - Doing well.
