I added pistachios to my daily diet because I was told they would increase my HDL. They did increase it from 27 to 38. Oh boy!

Recently, I noticed an improvement in my ED. Three years after my RALP, I was not expecting any more improvement. This morning I was googling pistachios to see the amount I should be eating to improve my HDL, when I came across a study that concludes pistachios improve ED. Maybe they are my source of improvement.

Has anyone else experienced the pistachio effect?

Hey Bronson,

Actually Costco sells them in a three pound bag ($14.99) .... that should last at least a week.  They sell a three pound bag with pepper for $16.99.

Some things to remember:
1. Ingest the nut and do not use it as a muse.
2. Remove the shell before ingesting.
3. Pistachios work best if ingested with beer (.... thats ingested not injected).
4. At only 140 calories an ounce you can supply your body with its daily calorie requirement with only two handfuls (0ne and a half handfuls if you also ingest a beer).
5. By eating pistachios you are supporting the California pistachio industry and keeping hundreds of California nut-stuffers employed (they're the folks who package the nuts in the handy little shells).

If I ate that many pistachios and the almonds that I eat each day, my rectum would not like me much at all. Those little green nuts are a lot of work for very little reward!

Thanks for the articles! I keep one of the 3lb Costco bags in my desk at work and have them (mixed with dark chocolate M&Ms) for an afternoon snack. I've been buying them for a long time for the heart (HDL) benefits, but didn't realize it was also helping erectile function! I take very few dietary supplements, and try to follow the words of Hippocrates who said, "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food." I see from the article that the recommended daily amount is a couple ounces...basically a couple handsful, which is about what I have.

eek - when I joked about buying the nuts in bulk - I was not expecting you to think they would be eaten in bulk as well !
- I can only handle a handful a day.

-nuff said...
