I am not sure my health plan would have covered that... :-)

I wish him well in his journey...

my original topic post was entitled .. "Dave's Not Here ..." for fans of the stoner film actor ( as stated by CNN) - so removed it and placed it here (an earlier posting)
----

link to tommy chong of "Cheech and Chong" duo talking about his use of hemp oil to combat stage one prostate cancer -

www.cnn.com/2012/06/09/showbiz/chong-prostate-cancer/index.html

it has been my understanding that the hemp oil ( like flaxseed oil) is bad for PCa since it is high in omega-6 which the PCa can feed on.

-another article about flaxseed (related topic) www.cnn.com/2012/06/09/showbiz/chong-prostate-cancer/index.html

note: this poster does not encourage nor endorse use of illegal / controlled substances ( don't shoot the messenger) - and this posting may be modified by moderators if deemed necessary.

thank you.

"Hey, it's me, Dave, lemmee in, I got the stuff!" scool

Can't say I'm surprised he chose herb as a cure. Not sure if it'll work, but will probably make him feel better about the situation...

Seriously, I wish him the best. His body, his life, his choice.

This reminds me of a funny story. A friend of mine and his wife heard his neighbors in tha next apartment talking about a drug deal and since they had small children they called the police.
It seems his neighbors were playing the Cheech and Chong album.
66 years old, rising psa for 10 years from 4 to 40; 12 biopsies and MRIS all negative. Oct 2009 DXed with G6 <5%. Color Doppler biopsy found 2.5 cm G4+3. Combidex clear. Seeds and IMRT, 4 weeks of urinary frequency and urgency; no side affects since then. 3 years of psa's all at 0.1.

Whatever floats your boat. Hope he does well, regardless of his bizzare treatment plan, didn't realize he was 74.

Yes, he looks every bit his age of 74... lol... Evidently, hemp oil is not that good for keeping a youthful look... yeah

I think is is sad that he has to fight the beast, but in light of ALL the vast amounts of cannabis herb he has smoked in his life you would assume if it worked to fight PC how in the heck did he get PC to begin with?  scool

I wish him well as I grew up in So Cal with Cheech and Chong on the local morning radio in the 60"s and they were so funny.
