I live in Houston TX, home of the largest medical complex in the world with numerous medical schools, MD Anderson, and over 13 hospitals. Medical Center in Houston is larger than downtown Dallas - it is literally a skyline and city of its own - not exaggerating. I cannot find one physician/urologist that will prescribe Trimix in the gel form. It is delivered into the urethra through an applicator. I cannot do injections because of a bad experience and want to simply try this before I do the needle as a last resort. Results are spotty, and the efficacy of the drug is not great. SO WHAT! I still want to try it. No skin off their back.

If anyone knows a urologist in the US that prescribes this med, please let me know. I will contact them and try to get a resource in or around Houston before I go to Mexico to get this d... drug. Is it possible every time I mention gel they think it is the old topical gel that didn't work and they don't even know about the new tests of the gel injected into the urethra through an applicator rather than in the cavernous area with a needle? What is going on here?

HELP!! Please don't post a bunch of comments about what a weenie I am for not wanting to stick a needle in my penis, please, I beg of you. Please don't post how easy it is, how it doesn't hurt, and how I just need to man up. Just send me info about someone, anyone, anywhere, who'll write this script and I'll take it from there. I have even contacted Trimix through their website and phone number and have not received a response yet.

Thanks very much. Sorry to be so terse, but I'm at wit's end here.

Tried to send you an email but you didn't have one listed. I live in Houston as well and have not tried trimex. You may try Houston Metro Urology and see if they will prescribe the gel. One of their #'s is 713-790-9700. Good luck.

Tried 'em. In fact, I was referred to them (won't mention docs' names). They initially said no, but I have someone double-checking. Thank you for the help. This is not an easy one and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Again, if it doesn't work, no skin off their back.

Thanks again.

A urologist does not need to prescribe.... your regular MD can.  Google Trimix gel.  Go to the website, print the fax form, bring to your local doc and they just need to attach the prescription to the fax form and fax down to the lab.  The lab will ship to you.  They are very helpful too if you want to talk to someone.  Call their toll free number.

Thanks for the info. This is frustrating for sure. Couple of things - 1) the info on the Internet is very sketchy. For instance, the info on the net references the one, small, junk science study from one doc. I called the number on trimix website and got an individual's voicemail. Checked on getting the FDA website and it is not approved - at least not the gel delivery system. It is not approved in the UK or Eurpoe. Can't get it from Canadian pharmacy. Cannot get it from compounding pharmacy that is promoted in news releases and on trimix site. The compunding pharmacy almost appears to be a shell - very little going on. The trimix gel site always seemed a little "promotional", kind of like a male enhancement site..., something. I called the doctor that did the study but he is out til next Thursday. Emailed the only doc mentioned on any google reference - haven't heard back. I called the preeminent urologist in Houston and put the question to them directly - does he, will he, prescribe it - no need to waste either of our time. He got out of surgery and answered the question and it was emphatically "no".

Dead ends everywhere. I don't think my internal medicine doc is going to write this script.

Obviously, I've been hammering this all day. I think the bottom line is that it's not available. The website says to do exactly what you said, but nothing materializes. There's even a YouTube about how to do it, but I can't find one soul who has actually USED it - period. It's like a mirage. I'm back to considering injections, waiting, or an implant. I'm worn out. Any suggestions?

Hey Franco,

If you google "muse Ed" you will find that Alprostadil, the major chemical in Trimix gel, is sold as a muse. I know Alprostadil muses are covered on the Tricare (military health insurance) formulary; therefore, I am fairly certain urologist will be aware of and willing to perscribe it. You may want to consider an Alprostadil muse .... some guys do have problems with a burning sensation due to the straight Alprostadil.

Isnt Muse an injectable? That's what I was trying to avoid otherwise I'll just go to Trimix. Trimix is covered by my insurance.

Thanks. I'll take all the ideas I can. I appreciate you posting.

Hey Franco,
Actually a muse is not injected. It is introduced into the urethra in a similar fashion as Trimix gel. Google "muse Ed" and you will be able to see examples.

Good Lord, that one goes down the urethra quite a ways - ouch to that one too. There's just no great answer here. Just when you think all your dignity is gone from PC, I sink further. I am discouraged no doubt, and I am a very positive person, but 9 mos. of this along with losing my Mom to cancer 2 months ago, I am emotionally worn out. I know everyone says you get used to the needle, but I'm telling you my wife said the tech pretty much got a running start for my penis and I came off the table. I'm trying to talk myself into believing that it was just administered wrong, but the psychological effect of the experience, then it not working and being disappointed, well, you get the idea.

I'm going to soldier forward and order the prescription for Trimix inject able and hope I get horny enough I'll o anything 'cause that's what it's going to take. That and some Zanax. Wish me well, I'm going in. It may take me another month to actually do it, but I'm really concerned about long-term penile health at this point.

I so wish you well. Really once you have done it a couple of times and have great success the fear fades. Good luck.

If you have specific questions feel free to email me. My profile has my email address.

Franco,

When I started using 31 gauge needles the pain went away.

Here's a link to a UsToo site that might give you helpful hints On injecting.

Franco,
ive used a Chicago based company that specializes in anti-aging therapy and sexual enhancement medicines. I was able to get the gel prescribed to me over the phone with just a premedical history form. To be honest, it was pretty painful but they do have the gel to offer.. I am currently using the Trimix injections which I administer myself. One tip I would consider is using the 31 gauge needle instead and maybe watch a video before injection yourself. You might want to start with a low dosage and work your way up..with my first injection my erection lasted over 7 hours...I had to get a shot of effedrine from my doc for it to go down...it was a lesson I had to learn the HARD way. You can email me if you'd like the contact info for the company I use. email redacted

Breyn: if you click the "my profile" link at the top of the screen then click "edit profile" you will see a radio button that makes your email address accessible to other members. That is the preferred way for people to contact you. Putting your email address right out in the clear will attract spammers and we know how bothersome they can be.

Franco,
I use the muse and get about a 70-80% erection.
I find it much easier to use than the injection and more effective (maybe it's my injection technique
tho I seemed to have tried every location and have a penis like a dartboard)
Give it a go, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck,
mike
