Most of the ill effects of having ones neurotransmitters out of whack also appear as side effects of Trelstar, although they tend to me listed in "less common" area. So, yes, some men on Trelstar will also need to consider adding drugs to tinker with their dopamine and serotonin levels. Whether the drug directly causes depression or if it is taking the drug that causes depression is a subject of debate.

But then again, no, Trelstar does not stop the production of dopamine or serotonin. That would be instantly fatal and men live with Trelstar for a long, long time. Or at least it seemed long to me.

The patent expired on Trelstar in March 2010. So that means the drug is 27 years old and off patent..In trials, it seems the Trelstar is somewhat more effective in suppressing testosterone than Lupron is....The two drugs may have different side-effect profiles...Google is your friend..
Age now 75 . Diagnosed G-9 6/2010. RALP, Radiation failed
Lupron, Zytiga, PSA <0.1 10/16 no change <0.1 5/17 PSA 1.6 Chemo or Provenge next..Sept '17, PSA now 9.2. ADT including Zytiga has failed. Will investigate treatment options.

I tried to go back and find the site that said that but I had no luck. I may have gone in a site that puts you in another site so they may have been talking about another drug! Since I'm on Trelstar I was in a panic because I thought like Peter said and couldn't believe it! Thanks for the feedback Guys.
