I swear we have talked about this before but the search engine didn't show any results. Anyway I had a bm today that was super pale. Not clay colored but a zillion times lighter than my typical stools. I know this is something to watch while on Imuran. Should I be worried after one occurence? I'm all up on my bloodwork and it came back a-ok. I'm just worried. Thanks:)

Thanks for the website. Interestingly one of the causes is rice consumption. I rarely eat rice and we had Japanese for dinner last night. I'll keep an eye out and call my GI Monday if it happens again.

Really pale stool usually indicates a lack of bile in it. I've had it before when my transit time was at warp speed. But as Joan said, if it continues, check with your GI because it can be a sign of liver problems.

or gallbladder or pancreas.

Food can definitely change the colour if the food you ate was very light or high in fat..you can check back at least 2 days.

I agree...if it continues, sporatically or frequently within the next while, contact the doc.
