I read in different posts that vitamin K and caprylic acid helps in th UC cases. One particular post i remember is Snookiebow's story. I was wondering whether vitamin K is K1 or K2 and what was the potency. Also what potency of caprylic acid should be used. My husband is also taking Omaega 3- Fish oil, Folic Acid, vitamin C, viatmin E and selenium. He is not taking any probiotics yet. Please provide valuable advice.

I also take omegas 3-6-9, vitamin C and vitamin A as these are all suppose to aid with inflammation...

He really should get on a good probiotic asap and take it daily and indefinitely.

pb4 you didn't answer my question. I wanted to know what potency would be adequate for vitamin K and caprylic acid. Also with vitamin K it is K1 or K2. Currently these questions are part of my confusion.

don't know about the K but be cautious with the caprylic acid. i was taking the dose listed on the bottle and 2 weeks later i started bleeding. this was very upsetting because i had been doing pretty well before i started it, but just wanted to see if i could feel even better.

make sure if your husband tries it out (just as with anything) he really listens to his body. just because it helps some doesn't mean it will help everyone.

many have had success with this, but just be careful.

UC (probably pancolitis, but no c-scope yet), diagnosed June 2006, started having major symptoms sometime in January 2006, about 3 months after childbirth. 2nd flare (minor) may 2007 after taking caprylic acid for 2 weeks.

-Prednisone 8/28/06-2/28/07. and again may '07, 8 week course.
-Prayer! asacol, probio, ground psyllium husk, prenatal, folic acid, cal-mag

may you live all the days of your life.

I'm not sure of the answer either but you could definitely talk to a nutritionist about it if no one here comes along with an answer for you.

Remember that high omegas plus vitamin e can cause blood thinning.....especially if mixed with salicylates. Just a word of caution when taking some supplements mixed with meds.

Too much, regardless of whether it's good for inflammation, is just too much.

I can't help with the vitamin K, but I guess it would help counter those effects.

Have you done any searches on snookiebow to find if he/she has a contact address?
