Ever have some pain that wraps around lower right side all the way to your back?

Originally I never had pains in this area before when I first got UC in December, but now on this flair up I notice some pain or tenderness in my lower right side that seems to wrap around to my back. I am a bit paranoid it could be something else besides colitis.

Every once in while I will have that pain and when I do, the next day I have to get rid of a lot bile when I go to the bathroom. I mentioned this to my GI once and he said that my gallblader can be spasming. But he didn't seem to concerned other then to let him know if it gets worse. Also too, if you have a sharp pain in that area and if it persists, don't assume it's your Uc. It can be your appendix - do you still have your appendix? What is the extent of your Uc? If you have Pancolitis then this can also just be a sign of inflammation. Right sided pain can be from a variety of things. Are you female?

I'm male, yes I still have my appendix. Last night I pressed directly where it was tender, and it was right on my side between your bottom rib and hipbone on the right side, it would almost be painful to push there. Today I woke up and it feels better on my right side so far this morning, I slep laying on my left side, maybe that helped, I don't know. Pain wasn't real sharp as of yet just nagging, sometimes jolting, I would say. I was told most of my colitis was in the lower part towards rectum, but he found some was also toward the beginning of my colon. I get the feeling during this flare up I seem to be getting pains and grumbling all over my colon, left and right side.

Your right it can be so many things in that part of your body. I was curious is it was common to have some discomfort and pain there with UC or IBS.
