pink mucus in stools

Hello everyone.

I have had this too, I think the blood mixes with the mucus. Sometimes mine is orange too, gross, I know...

It's simply got a bit of blood in it, it's fairly common, of course if you're concerned you should see your doc about it.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

Curious what colour the Lialda coating is....I see asacol coatings in my stool which looks orange actually. The first few times I thought it was blood or something I ate like carrots...but nope, was the casing (but entirely broken open with NO meds, which is a good thing.

Do you have any blood on the toilet paper??

Were you recently flaring?

If this is new for you and you're not having any symptoms other than just feeling normal...it could be that your symptoms don't match the inflammation/bleeding in your gut..that is if it's actually blood and not med/food related.

Hi. The Lialda coating is a light brown color. I have recently been flaring. I think it's because of the stress starting my second year in optometry school. I've been feeling alot more tired than usual. I've also noticed more of the pink mucus recently. I don't really have blood on the toilet paper. It's mostly in my stools.

Yeah, I could imagine optometry school to be stressful...hope you can get things back on track soon.

Please, please, please...ask the doc for rectal 5-ASA retention enemas to help deal with the rectal/sigmoid inflammation.

You could also consider to take some fibre supplements and probiotics...
