I tolerate one tablespoon in water in the morning, but I need to do it twice and I was wondering if doing it with pills would make it more palatable the second go round.

What is the equivalent to one tablespoon and do the pills work as well as the straight fiber in a glass of water?

The pills are definitely more palatable, and taken with water just as you would any other pill. I have found them to be as effective as taking the powder (or maybe even more effective). Also, at times I felt a bit bloated with metamucil powder but haven't felt that with metamucil capsules.

Read the ingredients of the kind of powder that you're taking and figure it out from the amount of soluble fiber in it.

For example, 1 rounded tbsp of metamucil powder is the equivalent of 5-6 metamucil capsules -- which is about 2-2.5 grams of soluble fiber per serving.

what an expense and hassle... the powder is dirt cheap. I'm just going to stick with the powder because I'm at two tbs a day in two servings.
