What time of day is best for probiotics? Is it best to take them in the evening so that the bacteria stays in your system longer? Or is it better to take them during the day when things are more active? What works for you?

Suggested by the clerk at the health food store that I purchase mine at, first thing in the morning/day, on an empty stomach.

:)
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
Drink a glass of water with a teaspoon of bicarbonate soda first thing in the morning. This will neutralise stomach acids which destroys probiotics. Take your probiotics 30 minutes later
I take mine before I go to bed about 2 hours after my meds.
Most probiotics are enteric coated and the capsule dissolves in the small intestine.
From what I've read, on an empty stomach is best, so first thing in the morning or just before bedtime can be good. I actually take mine when I get up for a bathroom break in the night. My schedule's pretty crazy and sometimes we're eating dinner fairly late. This way, I make sure my upper digestive system is empty.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999. Have been in remission for years with only a few minor blips. Scope on 6/22 showed no inflammation at all.
Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, vitamin D, fiber supplement and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and l-glutamine for gut healing. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free low carb diet.
