My doctor prescribed 12 days of a suppository for internal hemorrhoids irritated by the flex sig. I was wondering how I was going to do these *and* the enemas at night - the nurse just said put the suppository in right before falling asleep. Imagined laying in bed waiting for the right moment...

Well here's what happened:

Day 1: Used enema and watched TV laying down an hour before bed, then suppository at bedtime. Seemed like a good ritual for a couple weeks, as if I have a free hour before bed.

Day 2: Found out "room temperature" of my apartment is too warm (too many computers). When I opened the package the suppository came apart with no hope of being formed back together in the fridge like the pharmacist recommended. I tried to kinda stuff some in with my fingers but not much luck.

Day 3: (Suppositories now kept in the fridge... next to the eggs.. not something you expect to see.) Was the night of such bad D I didn't want to try to hold in an enema and just used the suppository.

Day 4 (last night): Used the enema immediately followed by the suppository before bed. Breakthrough! The suppository seemed to act as kind of a plug and I could barely feel the enema. I was able to get up and wash my hands, walk casually to bed, instead of hurrying to get horizontal while feeling gravity working against me.

Now I kind of wish I was on these full time, great trick!

night 1: tried just enema; next morning sucked
night 2: did enema and suppository. next whole day no more than 2-3 trips to bathroom
been doing the same thing for a few days now. Don't know how long to keep doing enemas...how to ween off them.
My GI Dr has been sucking getting back to my emails. I'm planning on finding a new GI very soon.
I feel like things are healing well. no blood. still small loose pebbles. Been looking through everyones threads/posts to see what others suggest?
