It has been years since my last colonoscopy and I recall not eating very well at ALL after the procedure (I think I was dumb enough to eat McDonalds if memory serves me correctly). I know they usually recommend the BRAT diet, but I've cut out bread and rice so all that really leaves me with are bananas and applesauce. Does the UC community have any suggestions on what might be soothing over the next few days while my poor colon recovers from flaring/having a scope shoved up my arse?

I think as long as it's not greasy or spicy and taking into consideration your regular diet you should be ok.

I made that mistake before with KFC.....never again!

I go for breakfast with my husband for scrambled or poached eggs, toast, back bacon and coffee.

But, you're flaring....so I'd suggest boiled egg and toast and plain tea if you are OK with that. Protein for sure.

I've never done the BRAT diet.

I have my scope next week Wednesday.

Let us know how yours goes.
