I haven't even started the prep yet for my colonoscopy tomorrow, and I'm already nauseated! I tend to get nauseated when I don't eat. I'm doing the Miralax in Gatorade prep. Better than the others, but I also hate the taste of Gatorade, so that's a challenge. I have ginger ale and ginger mints, but I'm worried. Any tips for getting the stuff down?
Ulcerative proctitis, diagnosed about 1998
Rowasa nightly, Canasa suppository in morning
Taken off Asacol under suspicion it caused low white-cell count
Fish oil, magnesium, multivitamin, Align probiotics
Allergies to dust, molds, penicillin, some trees and grasses, and cats (but I still have three!)
Occasional migraines
Pescetarian (eat fish but no other meat)

A few tips is 1) keep the prep stuff cold, 2) sip through a straw and 3) suck on a hard piece of candy in-between ounces.  Hope these tips work for you, and then me later this week when it's my turn!  I'm using the Suprep.....yikes!

Good luck tomorrow!!

Maybe next time ask for the gallon prep.....you won't have to go witout eating for so long. The morning of the prep, you can have a light breakfast or brunch.

Hope the rest of the process goes well for you.  Let us know tomorrow how it all went.

Enjoy your apr├ęs scope breakfast!

Well, about halfway done with the drinking, and so far, so good. And it just started working....

I guess it's too late for me to chime in now, but I take a Gravol before I start drinking the stuff.

I guess I am also too late! In any case, next time you can ask your doctor to prescribe you an anti-nausea medicine. I can't remember the name of the one my GI gives me, but it works wonders!
Good luck with your scope.

Thanks for the replies! I'm on the tail-end of the prep (pun intended!), and it's gone OK. I think the straw and ginger mints between doses really helped. Definitely better than the awful gallon jug of nasty liquid I took on a previous prep. But I'm so hungry, I'm even fantasizing about freaking saltine crackers.

Now I just have to worry about what they're gonna find to explain my anemia.... smhair

Haha, oh I know about fantasizing about things like saltine crackers!

Hopefully all goes well with the scope today. Please let us know how it goes.
