I am just starting to attempt to sort some of this out.
Possibly linked to the radical induction theory.
Seems quite complex and somewhat difficult to understand, will see how it goes.
Will add stuff as I find it,might get real interesting, but eye glazing for sure.

"Phosphatidylserine has been demonstrated to speed up recovery, prevent muscle soreness, improve well-being, and might possess ergogenic properties in athletes involved in cycling, weight training and endurance running. Soy-PS, in a dose dependent manner (400 mg), has been reported to be an effective supplement for combating exercise-induced stress by blunting the exercise-induced increase in cortisol levels"

I was taking a good amount of that and flared early 2010. I think I need all the coritisol I can produce since prednisone is simply synthetic coritisol.

I have never taken that one again. Phosphatidylcholine is good.

I have taken lots of PC,no help for me.
I think I have read somwhere that pred is 100 times more powerfull than cortisol.
At anyrate with the methylation, I know my homocysteine is high, which is related to UC,which is related
to poor methylation, probably. This all ties in with radical induction, high peroxide levels, high iron in diet.
But methylation can be a two edged sword,UC and colon cancer.

Have had to back off, making UC worse. Could be too much methyl B12 at once.
I am about to start a new thread on radical induction part 2.

OM in reading some of the links its says the either people get better fast or get worse "new symptoms arise because in getting the methylation cycle going one suddenly starts to get detox and die off symptoms"
so I am not sure why you stopped so fast, are you doing either right now?

Currently taking 1/4 pill of each.  Still feel crummy from it I believe may go to every other day.

okay so about 3-4 days into taking both I started to get sick. Flu-like symptoms that Ive had many times before just immune system out of whack. I pulled it back to every other day and had to take motrin (which I hate to taking NSAIDS). Now things seem to be calming down and I am actually sleeping through most of the night without getting up. I am going to take this for a few more weeks and if things get better I am going to add more to the protocol from here: drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/CFS_-_The_Methylation_Cycle

This does not look good, feeding a methylation diet to mother mice makes the babies DSS induced colitis worse.

It's absolutely idiotic to do a methylation study and use folic acid. We know folic acid does all kinds of bad things including increase cancer risk.

I believe one of the points of the study is that they are using these material in human prenatal vitamins
and that one of the possible causes for the increased incidence of IBD it kids just might be prenatal
vitamins, as crazy as that sounds. Of course the same thing might not happen in humans as opposed to rats.
I know they have been giving prenatal vitamins for many years,so this data might not really mean anything.

No, doesn't sound crazy.. Some say the ridiculous amounts of folic acid that are pushed on pregnant women plus the rampant fortification has something to do with autism as well. The amounts of folic given to those rats is way more then any human would eat.
