So I got my present today.... (cold).

Woke up with sore throat, headaches, and the sniffles. Im still in a weird half flare and I was wondering what you guys do. Im scared to take any tylenol or anything in case it makes my flare worse. Usually i abuse the neo-citron. Thoughts?

Ulcerative Colitis diagnosed Oct 2007. Prednisone for flares until Oct 2012. Currently in hopes of remission with new meds -> so close, 4-6 BM per day usually solid.

Currently on: Prednisone 15 mg, Imuran 50 mg, Remicade 300 mg (3 infusions)
Supplements: Ultimate Flora x 1, L-glutamine 1000 mg x 3, VSL #3 x 1.
Failed: 5-ASA, Asacol

Tylenol won't make your flare worse. Its the one kind of otc pain med that won't. When I get hit with a cold I use the Mucinex line of meds. Helps me a lot. Robitussin cough medicine is helpful too but may give looser stool depending on how sensitive you are to cold meds. Hot tea is wonderful for a sore throat.

Diagnosed UC/IBS April 2009-suffered over a year prior to diagnosis.

Currently taking Lialda 2 tabs in am, Protonix 40mg every day, Allegra, Zyrtec, Probiotics, Vitamin D3, Calcium, Zocor and Generic Rowasa enema twice a week.

Currently in Remission since June 2011.

I would probably go for tylenol as well. I have take other medications on necessary occasions and I've been okay but if I were flaring, I would be more hesitant to take an NSAID.
