interesting....

It irked the crap out of me when we had to do year two thousand, but it was what it was. I was hoping we'd get into the 20-01 the next year...but nooooooooooo.

When I'm talking to someone about a specific year something happened past 2000, I'll shorten it by saying in 2-01, etc.

For the years between 2000 & 2010... I do think I've heard people shorten to "oh-one" or "oh-two" (without "twenty" or "two" in front). I'm going to start saying it that way now, whether or not I was already doing it. I have just resolved so! Maybe it will catch on.

I think they are both correct, now if we could just get people to stop saying NUCULAR instead of NUCLEAR I would be really happy.

Twenty thirteen.

I totally agree, aguywithuc. I cringe when I hear "nucular".

It's like people who travel in the Northeast US in the Fall to see the "foilage".

lol @ foilage :) We get that too here in MI...people come to see the foilage. And of course since we are home of the Motor City...we get "axed" a lot of questions too.

LOL...those are great!

I've definitely noted the axe one from TV, but not the foilage as of yet..lol.

I made up the word disclude. Made sense when I said it..lol. And I said writhering in pain instead of writhing. My husband still bugs me about that one..lol

I have come to loathe the suffix ending "age". The latest one I heard from a hairdresser was "rootage". oy

Not sure what usze (you) people are talking about. It seems so natural to go from nineteen to twenty. Never hear anyone say one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine. Unless it was the year of our lord...
