Today i had a talk about trying to discontinue my remicade with my doctor. He doesn't think i should do it but he said its my choice. I'm scared of taking it anymore because i got a lump on my thigh and i'm just scared of taking prednisone and uceris with the remicade... what are your guys thoughts on this?

They don't think it's serious. But can someone please answer me if they think its a good idea to be on all 3 meds at a time? I know being on two STERIODS right now is sorta crazy but also with remicade?

Thanks scum1. I've had 3 remicade infusions and they haven't helped which is why my doctor put me on pred. But when i tapered to 20 mg i relapsed. Went back to 35 mg (now at 30 mg) and put me on entocort which is the same thing in uceris and now i've finally seen improvement

In a flare right now
Currently taking
Asacol HD 3x daily
Uceris
mesalamine enema nightly(not during this flare)
Past drugs:
Cipro
Flagyl
Prednisone Tapered down finally and I'm off the pred
Asacol
Imuran(generic) failed due to liver issues with it

Its okay, I appreciate your reply! I see your not on any meds besides good food I wish I could achieve that possibility :) it's actually something I thought about, which is why I talked to my doctor about stopping remicade.. I have until Monday to decide.

I was on pred, imuran and remicade all at the same time. I hated being on so many drugs but needed to get my flare up under control. Remicade only started working between my 2nd and 3rd infusions then failed after my 4th. Thankfully I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later so I didn't have to suffer very long with a flare up. Also just like KPwithUC said you can develop antibodies if you stop remicade and wait try to do it again.

In the end, go with your instinct. You know your body best. Good luck!

Thanks babygoose, but remicade hasn't worked for me for 3 infusions already which is why i was thinking off going of it. my doctor said to go in for one more infusion and then he'll taper me off prednisone and see how i'm doing. I honestly don't think its the remicade thats helped me because everytime i went on prednisone i would go into remission.
