Hi...you have to determine if they're actual boils or ulcers. Boils will be bacterial driven, usually staph or strep infection.
Ulcers usually aren't bacterial driven, especially if they're autoimmune related. But, yes...they're easy to become infected.
The boils, if handled incorrectly....the bacteria can be highly contagious.....
Absolutely make an appointment with the doctor and get them checked, cultured and a plan of action put in place.
