Does anyone have any experience with this protocol?

Basically, it's high Vitamin C doses, accompanied by high L-Lysine, L-Proline.

He received a patent on his work. The general idea is that cholesterol is a natural mechanism of repair in the blood. When there's damage in arteries and veins, Pauling contended that cholesterol is the body's way "patching" the problem. He further contended that these diseases of the cardiovascular system resembled a form of "chronic scuvy."

Apparently the "protocol" has been in use, not by Dr.'s per se, but by naturopaths and herbalists since its inception in the 1990's. The reviews I've found are all associated with websites for the most part trying to peddle their concoction. So I'm a little skeptical. But there are other sites that give personal experiences and it seems to be working for many.

I'm just curious if anyone has tried this protocol or have any first or second hand knowledge of someone who has.

A bit surprised by the lack of comment...

I started part of the protocol. I'm up to 5 grams of Vitamin C/ day and 4 grams of L-Lysine. I haven't ordered the remaining items yet but I will have them by next week.

I don't know if my cholesterol has changed in the short time I've been on the beginning part, but I've noticed I feel more energetic. Also, I've had pressure in my eyes that has significantly diminished. I guess it could be a placebo-type response, but I have noticed a change.

Dear dude1969,
Hello! How are you? I started this protocol in April 2013, so you appear to have a longer experience than I at this point. I did start out using the maximum tolerance level and for me that is about 20 grams of C. I am using approximately 10 gram of L-Lysine and a gram or 2 of proline. I have been taking several Blood Pressure Readings every day. My BP has gone down dramatically during the first four months and this last month it has slowed down but still is on a downward slope. I also have a roommate whose bp was low but after taking the protocol using about 1/4 or less the amount I do has also seen his pressure drop significantly. Have you been monitoring your blood pressure? I also ordered products from the web pages you mentioned and use them but found I needed to make my own mixture to lower cost. Are you still using the protocol and how do you feel now and is your BP good?

Hi Guys,

I recently had a stent and arterial blockage which more artery's heading for the same problem, so I have been scouring the internet for help.
So I came across the Pauling therapy which sounded amazing and gave me hope, so I did purchase their Cardio product which is 5000mg of Ascorbic acid and Lysene .... one point to note Ascorbic acid is not vitamin C it's a component of vitamin C.
If you actually look up what makes up vitamin C you will find that their are more components than ascorbic acid which are needed for absorption.

Anyway back to the background, I tried this for a few days and noticed I was struggling with right side pain - which I knew was my liver as have had meds before which can cause issues with liver if you have fatty liver syndrome. I immediately threw this stuff out.
I don't disagree with the concept from Linus Pauling but I am switching to a whole food Vit C rather than a chemically created ascorbic acid. I haven't got into the L-Lysene side but there are alot of foods I normally eat heavy in Lysene anyway.
Most opinions regarding arterial plaque and heart disease will lead you to a lifestyle change, to follow the Omega 3 diet and/or the 100% veggie diet for reducing Omega and reducing LDL - the bad fats.
I'm on the fence for the whole veggie diet but try to remain open minded, the Omega 3 thing however I am can't dispute at all as investigations have proven increasing Omega 3's is key to managing your health overall in addition to heart conditions.

Hope you find something that works for you and if the Pauling products work then great, but my experience was not good with them.

Thanks

Patrick
