Im am terrified out of my mind. I'm convinced that its my heart. I get tightness in my chest like someone is sitting on me with slight pain for no apparent reason. Wasn't even anxious. Yes I have had test. Last test I did was in March. Stress test and Echocardiogram than in june an ECG because of pain and tightness and all normal!!! What else could be causing this????? I took a tecta today to see if it will help and so far nothing.

what are the chances its my Heart. or having a heart attack???? Just looking for someone with experience in heart problems to knock
Dom sense in my thick skull.

Bam, so glad to read that your heart testing came back normal. I assure you if anything at all showed up on those tests the dr would have advised you, even if it was something minor & incidental. What I can tell is this, anxiety & GERD cause the very symptoms you have going on. Work on getting both back under control so that you can start feeling better. From a heart standpoint you have received the best news a patient wants to hear.

Take care.

Bam, I am not sure if you have a regular dr or if you do urgent care centers. What did this dr recommend that you do? This condition has been discussed over the years at Healing Well. Most of the time people complain of pain on the left side in the rib area & some chest pain. Try using a heating pad & some OTC NSAIDS & see if that brings any relief. If this does not help, you may not have it & perhaps you should see your regular dr.

Take care.

I would make an appointment with my regular doctor, to confirm the diagnosis. I would want confirmation from somewhere other than an Urgent Care office.

Bam, here is something else to consider. When anxiety kicks in, our muscles tend to tense up, think about it. Since this dr pressed on your chest & said the muscles were inflamed, I would not accept that as a diagnosis. This dr doesn't know you, go see your dr about this & get his/her opinion.

Take care.

Hi Bam,
Do you have a practitioner who examines your spine? It's very commonly the source of chest pain, from subluxations in the upper thoracic spine.

Bam try some Aleve & using a heating pad for no more than 20 minutes at a time. You have nothing to lose by trying this.

Bam, in another forum you said you were using ice. When going back through the archives here at HW moist heat was very helpful. Also if you will look this up at the Mayo Clinic's website they say the same thing.

Hi Bam,
In Australia the chiropractors are better trained at examining and treating the spine but i don't know anything about the scene in Canada - best ask around for who has a good reputation. I did try a quick reply but it couldn't have worked - re having a massage first to loosen up muscles and possibly using homeopathic arnica to reduce the risk of a bad temporary aggravation after an adjustment.
