Stomach bloating and breathing difficulties

 

Interesting, I just posted the same question a second ago.......I have the same exact problem, breathing issues and cough associated with GERD. My MD said that he thought it was allergy related but I suggested that it was due to GERD since it seemed to correlate to other GERD related symptoms. The albuterol inhaler and claritin he prescribed did absolutely nothing for me. I guess you need to just treat the GERD and the breathing symptoms will get better. But from what I have read, the symptom is atypical but does occur and it maybe due to microaspiration into the lungs.

Thanks Robin. If not for the albuterol I am convinced I would have suffocated right then and ther in front of my wife -that was this morning at 8:00 AM houston time, and again it was associated with a hugely bloated stomach.

I  saw the Dr yesterday complaining of bloating anf difficulty breathing. I have clear lungs, no cough, no pain of any sort, good bowel habits and normal stools, no nausea or belching, BP is 110/70, no fever, and EKG was normal. only problem was the spirometer test result was 39. Well heck, I was bloated and couldnt take in a deep breath anyway.

Dr prescribed Z-Pack, Nexium, and albuterol, and took blood for CBC and h.Pylori test.

 

I hope this ends soon, as I am afraid to leave the house .
