Hi, I'm new here.

I noticed after my most recent bowel movement that there are white round spots in my feces.

Does this point to something GI related? I am nervous that it is worms and am hoping it is not.

Could be worms. Could be something you ate white. Could me different things. Why not ask your doctor?

I'm waiting to see a Gastro but my appointment isn't until next month, so I was wondering what this might be or if it was something that would need to be taken care of immediately.

Those could be worms. Don't worry they are treatable. You should go to your doctor and have them prescribe a medication for you. Thousands of people get those every year. You can get worms from just about anything, a candy bar, food not cooked all the way and from restaurants, if they don't cook food all the way. Remember, I am not a professional but I would not wait a month...........just see you PCP.

Good luck

Max, if it was me, I would be collecting a few of the white spots and be examining them.  Use a toothpick and see what it really looks like.  It could be a type of worm or also fat deposits from your diet.   If you make an appmt make sure you have saved a few of the white spots to take to the doctor.  You can do it now and refrigerate the sample.  Even call the doc and tell them, they might want you to drop it off at a lab before appmt un-refrigerated.  Different samples require different handling.

One time I saw a lot of red coloring in my stool, about panicked till I remember I had eaten beets the day before--that is what it was too.

It could be many things. For me, I found out it from my gastro was just some undigested food. Sometimes when you have GERD/heartburn your food isn't always digested properly. So while it could be many serious things, it could also just be some not so fully digested food.

I'd definitely get it sampled anyhow though. Talk to your doctor.
