Yes, alcohol can definitely cause stomach irritation.
It is generally recommended that we stay away from chocolate, alcohol, highly acidic foods (oranges, grapefuit, most berries, etc.), caffeine, dark colored soft drinks, coffee, and strong tea. My endo doctor did tell me that tea is pretty well tolerated by a lot of his patients so he okayed drinking tea as long as it doesn't bother my stomach. He also said, caffeine free clear soft drinks are okay unless you get stomach irritation from the fizz caused by carbonation.
