I'm not sure if this is what I have or not. I feel a sensation in my chest that I can only describe as not normal. It's almost like I'm dry inside?? It's sorta how my throat also feels & is relieved when I drink water. I feel it all the time but it's worse after I eat. When I do eat it goes away temporarily, until I feel full. Then I feel as if the food is sitting in my chest. I seem to be burping a lot more than I used to and always feel like the burp is going to be huge & just a little one pops out. I've just been through a very stressful time in my life & was having daily panic attacks for 2 months, which are now sort of under control. This feeling in my chest is going to bring them back though if I don't get it figured out. Any ideas or suggestions???

Yes Gerd can make you feel short of breath. I have had that when refluxing and it irritates the Vagus nerve. Felt at times like I couldn't catch my breath. It is not uncommon for that same situation to make people feel like they are having a heart attack. Until I got control of my reflux last year I had a couple of months of this. The Vagus nerve travels down near the esophagus and can be impacted by the acid and inflammation that occurs to it when your refluxing. It can be a circle, you feel this, it makes you anxious and it makes your stomach produce more acid causing more reflux and it can then feel worse. Have to break the cycle thru diet, meds, lifestyle changes.
