Every so often, my throat suddenly feels like gas is moving up it and it emits a loud gurgle noticable by others. Excercise makes it worse, but there's no pattern with my foods, and none of my meds - PPI, H2 Blocker, SSRI or Gaviscon Advance - can stop it at all, in fact Gaviscon especially makes it worse..! What is happening to me?

Daxter,

Another reason why you need to move forward with testing re you symptoms.  Your Dr. should be able to advise you re this symptom.  Also opnwhl4 had similar issues however he also  had strictures from the reflux. They dilated the areas and that helped for about a year. If you have the barium swallow study done it should show if you have this.

Kindly,
Kitt

I know what this is. I have been experiencing the same symptoms for years I thought I had something terribly wrong inside or mayb real bad gerd or indigestion but no.. I have only just done my thorough research and concluded that the real problem is that I've been swallowing air through my mouth, causing gas, gurgling sounds in throat and bloating and many other symptoms.
If u don't believe me look it up do ur own research.
For real u need to try breathe through ur nose only try n train urself and keep ur mouth shut and breath through ur nose, can bet u that the noises start to go away!!

I have this too, but I don't have a good explanation for you. It almost sounds like pop rocks in the back of your throat, right?

I'm curious to see if this goes away after surgery.
