I recently underwent a gastroscopy that showed a normal oesophagus/stomach/duodenum ect. i received my biospy results that were taken and it says:
"the specimen taken comprises tiny fragments of squomas mucosa along with columnar lined mucosal fragments. there are feautes of reflux oesophagitis. there is no evidence of ulceration, intestinal metaplasia, granulama, dyplasia or miliganance
Oesophageal Biopsy: Reflux oesophagitis"
I am due for a review with the consultant but went to see my GP who says it all sounds pretty normal minus the oesophagitis.
Does this report imply I have barretts as there was no mention of it on the biopsy or in the gastoscopy report?
PS. I have had fundoplication and the camera revealed my wrap was intact. could that be the culumnar lined mucosal fragment on the biopsy?
