What causes OA pain flare ups?

It doesn't seem to have no rhyme nor reason why the OA in my hands act up when it does.  I haven't done anything to strenous the past couple days, haven't done a lot of typing but yet I got woken up at five this morning.  I went to flex my fingers I guess and the pain woke me.  My fingers are like sausages and my whole hand just aches.  So what the heck am I doing wrong?

Flare-ups in joints with osteoarthritis are mostly the result of overuse, repetitive activities or injury to an already affected joint.



What are you doing wrong, nothing as this is the nature of Osteoarthritis. I can go for weeks without any problems and then one day I have pain and swelling. I am able to use Aleve which usually helps my pain.

Since I was born with dislocation of the hip, hammer toes, etc...my arthritis is pretty constant and I am happy about this. I hear others say the rain, the cold weather, etc. I do notice if I don't move much during the day, I am become stiff, very tired and sort of "down-hearted".

This problem primarily happens during the humid weather or if I come down with a virus, etc. I usually use Mobic and find it to be a "wonder drug".

So long, everybody...just do the best you can and be graceful in the face of WHATEVERITIS.
