Question for all you asthma folks. I'm live over in the colitis forum. My daughter is 9 and seems to be having trouble breathing while playing sports. She turns very red from head to toe. My younger brother has bad asthma and it would flare when he played hockey.
What are some of the signs?
Do they test people and how?
Your help is appreciated. She also had her tonnisals removed last spring. Thanks , Westy

Well, as a parent we get very concerned for our kids. Try to bring this subject up with your child's doctor and see if you can get help with him/her first. If thats of no help then take your child to an allergy/asthma doctor. Just cause as a parent it'll also give you peace of mind.
When you go to the doctor make up a list of what is happening to your child and when as that'll help in the diagnosis.
As I'm not a doctor this is my advise to you and I would be concerned too, if this was happening to my child.
I sincerely hope it's not asthma, and I send my best of wishes and prayers to you.
But on the other hand asthma is not the end of the world either, it just seems like it at times, it can be controlled. So, take your child to the doctor first and find out.
Please keep us posted.
There are newer child asthma education materials out there today too!
Best of wishes

Joe, I would definitely voice your concerns to your doctor.  On the bright side, it seems a lot of kids do out grow asthma.  Good luck to you and your family.

Take care!
