Unfortunately because of all the Prednisone, I weigh 185 and I am 5'3" tall. This is 65 lbs. more than my normal weight.  I found out today that my walking buddy is going to be out of town until March 3rd.  I will try my best to go and walk some by myself.  For now, walking is about all I can do and it has to be indoors and I have to use my inhaler first.  It is very cold here now and my asthma is severe.

I am allergic to:  MSG, soy, corn, oats, tomatoes, milk,
It's been so long since I had the RAST test, I'm sure I am forgetting some.

I enjoy most all fruits except grapefruit, most all vegetables except green peas.  I like most meats except liver.

Unfortunately, I love bread and sweets.

My problem is I hate to cook, but I guess I'm going to have to learn how if I'm going to lose weight.  I do enjoy salads.

Thank you so much for coming up with this idea!

Gees, Carla...we all love breads and sweets:) It would be heaven if those two food groups were the lo-cal, good for you foods:) A person can dream:) Please watch the carbs now before you get diabetes like me. I wouldn't wish what I have gone through on my worst enemy. Warm French bread and melted butter...hot cinnamon rolls dripping with frosting...my brain just malfunctioned...please ignore last sentence:)LOL

Hi another day...I am overweight just from asthma...it makes me very tired and down. I weigh about 225 but I am a almost 6 foot tall female. We've gotten another snow storm here. I did walk a bit yesterday. I am an airborne allergy mess and was identified with it in 1983 or so. Also exposed to a lot of the fumes in an industrial accident. Worked in the printing trades which caused other problems.

It is snowing like crazy here today so I can not swim in the local pool. Got the booster shot.

hi groovey ... am watching Sicko by Michael Moore and I put my outside bathroom curtain up today.
At least I was able to talk my allergist into giving the DTP shot. See my post somewhere. Unfortunately I am getting so much spam that I won't give me e-mail address out. Thanks for thinking of me, though!

Groovey,

I think you misunderstood Joan.  She said she was watching a movie by the name of Sicko and that she was having a lot of spam on her computer today and did not want to give out her email address.  She did not call you Sicko.  I know with us being from different parts of the world, we are going to have language barriers from time to time.

I hope you will reconsider leaving us.  We would really hate to see you go.

Hugs!

I mentioned the author of the movie...Michael Moore. What can I say?????????? I do not want to give my e-mail address out. That is MY BUSINESS.

Joan,

You do not have to give your email address out.  As a matter of fact, it's best not to.  Because I am a moderator, mine is out there.  Others use one that is not their real email address.  Please do not feel pressed to do so.

You don't need me to tell you that you don't have to participate in the "let's get positive program" either.  Another member was just trying to be helpful and willing to spend a lot of their time working up diets for each of us.  I think it is very kind, but it may not be for everyone.

I hope you can just put it behind you.  You are both great members.

Hugs!

Groovey,

No hurry, I just appreciate that you are willing to take the time to do this.  It sounds like you have your hands full right now.

Congratulations on being a grandparent!  I hope your daughter feels better soon.  Focus on her right now.  Is this your fist grandchild?  I have three and they are so much fun!  Seriously, your daughter needs your help right now.  I will still be here whenever you get her all settled.

Hugs!

Groovey,

I'm glad to hear that your daughter is doing a little better.  This will be like starting over as a grandmother since the other two are almost adults.  You'll have so much fun!

Hugs!

Groovey,

Thanks for the update on Mom and Baby.  She must be miserable with all that swelling.  I certainly hope they get her BP under control soon.  Please keep me posted on them.

I got your email, but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.  I've been on the go all day.  Again, I thank you for taking the time to do that for me.

Hugs!

Hi everyone. Im 23 years old 5'6'' 120 lbs. I have had asthma (exercise induced and cough variant) for only a year now, but i know that even with asthma you can keep exercising. Before I was diagnosed I use to run a mile or so every day. Then last year I was diagnosed and it did slow me down for a lil bit while I was learning how to control it and I had 2 rounds of bronchitis in a row. But now I have figured out what triggers it and how to control it and I am back out running. There are some days where im not able to b/c im having a bad day with my asthma but really once I started exercising again I did notice how much better I felt. I know that this is not gonna be the same for everyone, everyone is different...i know im a nurse. But I thought I would just share my story. Good luck to everyone.
