Im going to keep this brief. I read a thread on this website a few days ago. Ive got chronic urticaria. EVERYTHING sets it of. Ive tried all the medications that people on this site have tried and I was starting to get quite depressed as nothing has helped.
Today I met a fantastic doctor and for the first time in six months Im hoping in the next few weeks that my urticaria is going to go away. Ive got a new prescription called Cimetidine, this drug coupled with my normal antihistamine should ( I pray) help me.The doctor seems to think this is going to help reduce or even rid me of this horrible affliction.  Ill keep everyone updated, because this condition is crippling and if this works then theres hope for us all. no more red welts stinging and itching, it sounds like heaven doesnt it! .

Hi Abb and Rob,
I've been newly diagnosed with it myself- and I'm stunned. being 41 and having enjoyed food and drink all my life I just cannot understand why this is happening. I've had it for 4 months and after trying to find exactly what set it off I've decided to build my diet up as opposed to down. So for the past 2 days I'm on bananas and porridge!
An apple set me off yesterday- I had welts all over my body but luckily they go within 20 minutes or so. I was at work and just escaped outside until they calme down.
May I ask you about an unpleasant thing? Do you also have diarreah because I have had this for 4 months too and now I'm wondering if maybe I've got something else beside urticaria. (stupid me forgot to mention this to the GP I saw)
cheers.
