I have a rash on my neck that looks sort of like a collared shirt (the shape of the redness). It continues down my chest a bit but is most red and noticeable on my neck. It only happens after I shower (even with lukewarm water). There is also a stark demarcation line between the red irritated spot and the whiteness of the rest of my neck, it's very 'crisp'. I do get redness on my face too... all over! What's up with this? I'm not itchy whatsoever and it's not raised. I was told I had rosacea but now I'm starting to think it's some sort of heat rash? The only thing is I'm very careful not to take hot showers.

Thanks!
Crohn's (diagnosed in 2006 and currently in remission), severe migraines, Seborrheic Derm., Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (1994), chronic pain, ulcers/GERD and possibly Lupus. Medications: Nexium, Pentasa, Percocet and Vicodin as needed, Flintstone Vitamins (my favorite part!), calcium and magnesium supplements, vitamin D once weekly. I follow a low fiber, low residue diet.

It could be Rosacea because that can be aggravated by heat or semi heat. Have you seen a dermatologist for it yet? Rosacea can flare by just not heat but other triggers as well such as caffeine, alcohol, certain foods and certain medications. Have you tried any creams for it yet? If so, what?

Red_34, thanks for your response! I do use Finacea but it does not help very much. My skin looks more visibly red after applying it. Also I am unsure whether rosacea can be on the chest and neck... What do you think?

Not sure because all the websites I've gone to only states that it is on the face. Could this be part of your CD in combination to the Rosacea? Or maybe a medication and you are having an allergic reaction? I think I have Rosacea (going to the doc on Tues for it) and my face itches and burns but I do get random rashes too that I am not sure if its from my meds or my UC. One time I had a virus and was running a high temp - being on an immune suppressor I had to to go the doc to be on the safe side and I had a rash all over my body too and showed the doc. She seemed shocked at it but it finally went away on it's own in 2 days. Not sure what THAT was about. But the rash didn't itch or anything and it was like a heat rash. But if it continues, I would definately see a dermatologist or even an allergist - just take pictures of it if you can so if it goes away, you can have something to show the doc.
