I have been reading the board and wanted to say hello.. I am from Qld Australia I hope that is ok.. I was diagnosed with brittle asthma in April of this year, I have never had asthma in my life. I have nearly died twice and hospitalized several times. I have had in adrenaline pumped into me for when I get too tired to fight and of course the bags and bags of prednisone which later found were not helping me anyway. My life now is completely slow down to where I am on a year extended sick leave.

It is a comfort to know that there are others out that do understand, my family and friends feel helpless, there is not a day goes by where I am not out of  breathe. The only times I’m not is when I sit quiet and do nothing. The only medication I am on now is Ventolin and Seritide nothing else seems to be working.

I look forward to participating with the board :-)

Hi Karen, welcome to Healingwell :) I'm so sorry that you have to go thru all that. I feel for any asthma sufferer really. I, myself, do not have have asthma but my son does. And not nearly as bad as most of the people on this board. The A/A forum is a tad slow at times so if you should have any questions, don't hesitate to post but it can take a while to get an answer. Once again welcome aboard! :)

Hello and nice to meet you. Welcome to our A/A family..
I know there are others here who have brittle asthma, mine is mild to moderate asthma.
But I've had asthma all my life. It can be hard very when you've just been dx (diagnosised with)
and not having grown up with it...I've gotten so accustomed to having asthma,
that I can't tell when I start to wheeze. So sorry your having a rough time of it, if your
better when not doing anything then I'd say just relax for now and when your
starting to feel better then get up and do stuff, just try not over doing it...
Well, keep us posted and I sure hope your feeling a little better soon.
take car and lots of soft hugz.......

Hi and welcome to HW. Sorry to hear your having a rough time. I know it hard to adjust to having asthma when you have not had it all your life. I was just diagnosed a lil over a year ago. Although mine is only mild to moderate I still know how you feel adjusting your life to it. Good Luck Hugs
