Hi,

I need some sort of allergy testing that is more invasive than skin pricking.

I have done that and it is not catching everything, atleast I don't think so.

I just ate taco bell, was fine. Then at a baby shower I had cake, peanuts, dip and chips. Not long after eating it felt like my throat was swelling, but had no trouble breathing. Then I feel all this "pressure" in my ears. And lots of mucous I can feel, in the back of my throat at my mouth. It goes no where. If I sawllow I can still feel it. And it gets really hard to clear my throat.

Does anyone else do this?

I eat peanuts all the time by the way. Never have had a problem.

There are some other tests that can be a bit more concrete and one is the RAST test. This is a blood test that checks for allergens. Another is *I think I am getting the name wrong here* epidermal test. This is where they stick the allergen just under your skin using a needle. Have you tried eating peanuts after attending this baby shower? If not, then peanuts can still be your culprit even if you have had no allergic reactions in the past. Allergies can occur at any given time with no rhyme nor reason. Nuts are the number one allergy source and can be quite serious. Sometimes allergies can begin mild and proceed to be more serious of nature or they can just pop up severe. I found that my daughter is allergic to shellfish one Thanksgiving. She was having shrimp cocktail and after eating several she developed an itchy rash on her arms. So we correlated it to eating the shrimp. So a couple years later, she tried ONE shrimp and she ended up with a rash all over her body. See the progression in some people?
