Hi just wanted some advice really,

I was told i had idiopathic urticaria 4years ago I first started having the rash the day after I gave birth to my son. Since then I have had countless different anti histimines and steriods but nothing seems to help. I have also had a few case of angieodema with the urticaria the most recent being 2 days ago.

The rash normally starts on my wrists or the back of my hands then spreads across my face and body. The only explaniation the dermatologist can give me is that I am auto immune therefore I am basically allergic to myself!!! He has offered me immune suppressants as a form of treatment but the side effects seem so bad i'm scared to go down that route as i have 2 children to look after. Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

I have tried to find triggers of it but I have so far come up with nothing so any advice would be greatly appriciated xx

Have you taked to an Allergist or an Immunologist? if u havent i would highly recomend it! the allergist might be able to help you find triggers, and either could get a lot of blood work on ur immune system and test it, to see if that is the problem! if nothing else the immunologist could give u more info on the immune suppresants... but i would not just start taking them without talking to a specialist, or at least getting some testing, or blood work! if there is something wrong with ur immune system you could really hurt it by taking something that could make it worse... so i would definately see some specialists, or at the very least a 2nd opinion from another derm.

Hope something in here helped, and i hope u get whatever this is straightened out!
