ok i have been off prednisone for 3 weeks now and the facial hair that i grew because of that terrible medication has NOT gone away cry i am very much considering waxing my face, but i don't want to have to do it for the rest of my life. the dr swears the hair will fall out now that i'm off the pred, but it's not going away and i am getting extremely depressed to the point where i cry everyday and i am embarrased to leave my house. I tried bleaching it but it just looks worse in the sun. Does anyone know if I wax my face, will it cause more hair to grow and will i have to continue to wax forever? Or will it just get rid of the hair that's there and no more will grow now that i'm off of the prednisone?

Thank you!!!!!

Waxing removes the hair at the root, the same as plucking it with a tweezer. If the steroid effect hasn't completely worn off, the hair could come back, but once that effect is completely gone it will not come back. So you might need to wax a couple of times, but things should return to the way they were before pred after a while.

Thank you. I just want to make sure that if I wax, I'm not provoking new hair to grow that wasn't there before. I'm scared that if I wax, I will make the hair grow back and if I leave it alone to supposedly fall out like they say, then it will fall out and not come back. But, I just don't know how long it will take to fall out, if it truly will, and I am tired of waiting! Three weeks with facial hair has been torture for me... I don't know how much longer I can leave it alone!
