My doctor put me on Advair and singulair a few months ago for asthma. It is controlling it only so, so and it costs me about $100/month. Are there any other less expensive maintenance meds for asthma? Thanks!

Advair has coupons on their website. Type in internet coupons and you can find some valuable coupons that way. If you quailify you can ask for special discounts from the company.

Thanks, I will check on the coupons. I won't qualify for needy meds. I just take so many meds now, it all adds up! I think people here have the same issues! Thanks for the reply! Hi Sherry, looks like we have some similar issues with IBD and allergies. lol... I am waiting for my last biopsy to see if they know what kind of IBD I have. I hope I am not allergic to mesalamines b/c I am allergic to sulfa and colazal wasn't working all the way for me.

Oh I can definately understand how those meds can rack up the $$$$$. I feel lucky that I have a pretty small co-pay ($5 for generic and $11 brand) but after filling so many meds a month, it can wreck the pocket book! But even if you don't qualify for the programs, definately check out the coupons on needmeds.org. They have pretty much every med imaginable including Advair.

Wow, that's really a good drug plan!! We are on the federal health plan and it is quite expensive!!! I know people who work for private companies and state govt. who pay half what we pay. This year, we had to go to a different health plan because the premiums went up so high. The medical costs are quite low but the prescriptions will cost more. Before I got VSL #3 for 24 dollars, now it is $45. I think we'll still save money though. I will check out needmeds.org though, thanks a bunch for the info.

Do the coupons work towards your co pays? My co pays this year went up to $20, $30, and $60. Between my daughter and myself I am paying almost $400/month just for prescriptions and thats if neither of us get sick.

I'm not sure, Tricia since I've never used them but you can cruise around the website and see and maybe also ask the pharmacy where you get your meds.

Try also internetdrugcoupons.com, I use them alot. My co-pays are $15, $30, and $75. I need every coupon I can scrape together. My pharmacist is always asking if I have a coupon for the meds I'm ordering.

Thanks! I'll try them too. My brother had that surgery for GERD many years ago and he's been good with it.
