Hiya, I am 18 years old, I am always getting cistitis and its really nasty and was just wondering if anyone knows anything bout it or has any ideas as to why I get it so often or what I can do to get rid of it for good sad I would say I get it every 3 weeks or so. I've tried drinking cranberry juice but it doesnt really help, I've tried not eating salty foods, I've been to the doctor who was no help at all and Im starting to get stuck for things to do!! Its driving me crazy!!!

Hiya PrincessHannah and Welcome to HealingWell!! tongue

I'm not sure I can be of any big help to you in this forum.  I have read where if there is an existing problem and you eat foods that perhaps you have an intolerance to, or an allergy to that could be a possible cause for cystitis.

I know you've mentioned speaking to your Dr., but I think I'd persue this avenue and speak to him again!  There are many reasons for young women to get cystitis.
Best Wishes to you and Hope you feel better soon! yeah

Hugs, Teri tongue

PrincessHannah,

This is ur business, but if you are sexually active, before activity, make sure you are scrupulously clean, empty the bladder of its contents, then drink a large glass of water; after activity void the bladder, drink another large glass of water and continue to flush the bladder for at least an hour - void, drink, etc.  This should flush out some bacteria from the vaginal area.  It's also possible that you have a high sugar count which will cause bacteria to grow.  Have your blood checked to see if you have any diabetic tendencies.  Good luck.

This is an allergy forum and any references to other health issues must be dealt with by your own Dr., or perhaps looking into another forum here at HealingWell.

We are not Dr.'s and we don't prescribe any medications, or methods of treating someone elses condition here.

Thanks, Teri
