Hello new here so not sure if this is right place to post.

I went though a couple of months of being poorly/ bad anxiety I ate a packet of porridge the one day the ingredients was oats milk etx I experienced facial swelling as well as a rash I was seen in a n e department and given antihistamine but no injection

A year went by and I followed a plain food diet til I had allergy testing
The results came back I had no reaction to oat, latex, dust, pet dander, any kind of nut or milk on a skin test

Blood test showed ige level of 24 which said was normal they said they noticed I was 0.33 kua/l for antibodies to dairy but said they didn't think allergy was cause of my episode

I'm now attemptin to reintroduce dairy but am worried what they antibodies mean?

Does anyone know?

Welcome to the forum.

I'm no doctor, but a caring patient who had to figure out my allergy/sensitivity.It My allergist had me keep a Food Journal (see many posts in the search box at the top of the page, aka archives). So start keeping one. Any old notebook or calendar with daily pages will do.

What other ingredients were in the porridge? Was there any possibility of another food, drink or medicine? I have had a reaction to Albuterol after 8 hours, and other report reactions (headaches mostly) as long as 2 days after consuming sulfites.

Ask the manufacturer what ingredients were in the packet, and don't eat another one until you rule out all the ingredients!

Allergists and other doctors are really great, but they can't figure out all the problems in a single visit. We have to do our sleuthing too.

Best wishes. I hope you will let us know how it goes.
