I have Rhinitis and have used every nasal spray there is with no effect, other than Vicks Decongesant which worked like a miracle BUT 1 day later when it wore off I was worse than I was at the start!

So I would like to try a medicine rather than a spray but want to know if it would have a rebound effect too?

I was looking at:

http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Dry-Cough-Congestion-Relief-Oral-Solution-120ml_852490/

and

http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Pharmaceuticals-Decongestant-Tablets-12-Tablets_1473821/

So I spoke to 3 different pharmacist and they all said different things. One said the above will cause rebound effects as it has xylometazoline, oxymetazoline, pseudoephedrine or one of them atleast and it will cause a rebound effect.
Another pharmacist said the above will not cause any rebound effect as it doesnt contain Oxymetazoline.

So I just dont know what to believe? anyone help?

How about trying a simple saline sinus wash. No harsh chemicals. Read the note I left for 10drum a couple of days ago.

Sprays don't get into the sinuses because the passages are just too tiny. There are tons of posts on sinus washes.

The main treatments for allergic rhinitis are avoiding allergens, managing symptoms with medicine and other home treatment, and, in some cases, getting immunotherapy (such as allergy shots). How often you need treatment depends on how often you have symptoms. You may need to clean your house often to get rid of dust, animal dander, or molds. Or you may need to stay indoors when pollen counts are high.

Please look at the forum rules specifically rule #4. I have edited your post.
