i am a female who has had daily headaches for 5yrs now, Started in jan. 2001 2 months after 2nd back surgery for heniated degenerative disc. Have Titanium screw cages in L5-si. have pain still in back but not as bad as before surgery. Headaches start 1/2 hr after getting up and last all day. Also have Seborrhoeic Dermatitis in ears, scalp and around nose. ears itch started same time headaches. 2 different Nerologist said TENSION/MIGRAINE headaches. put on

also tried Topamax 10mg but side effects to bad. Was tested for allergies ..tested positive for cat dander, dust, ragweed. Zyrtec and allegra didn't work. but zyrtec -d or allerga D worked for only 2 months. (don't remember which 1 of these 2 worked but only did for 2 months. )

am currently on AMITRIPTYLINE HCL 30MGS, DON'T WORK. !!!!!!!!!!

pain in forhead, cheeks, nose, teeth, around eyes. Nose is stuffed when lay down, when turn over on other side that side gets stuffed. While sleeping start coughing like choking, post nasal drip. Stabbing pain around eyes sometimes. Headach works in higher alltitudes like in mountains. cold weather or ice pack makes worse. Heat pad relives little until take off.

Not senseitive to light or sound, no aura, no vomiting, no usual signs of migraine.

Why did allegra-d work only for 2 months?

could i also be allergic to dairy or a certain food besides dust, cat and ragweed?

Hi there, welcome to Healingwell. I'm sorry to hear you've been suffering with these horrid headaches. They sure can make your life miserable can't they??? It is a possibility that you can be allergic to foods as well as the normal culprits. Have you had any food allergy testing done? Gluton intolerance, Celiac? I'm not sure if these allergies would cause constant headaches but I do know that sometimes food allergies can cause stuffiness and post nasal drip. Do you have a humidifier in your room when you sleep at night? If not, I highly recommend one especiallly if notice this more at night. Sounds too like you may have more going on here then simple allergies and I know that the doctors can be frustrating because they don't have all the answers but have you been to an Ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist? Are you on birth control pills right now? Sometimes the pill can cause hormonal imbalances that can cause headaches which is why you may not have noticed the headaches while you were pregnant. That was the case with me, I tried the pill for 3 months and had constant headaches so I stopped it and the pain went away.

Just browsing through here, your letter cought my eye as your symptom's are very similar to mine, I used to get a headace every day at about 12.30/1.00pm, it would stay with me till I went to bed, wake up fine till about the same time then start again. my problem was extreamly sensetive eye's, I took to wearing very dark glase's and that would cure it, it's worth a try, you would know in one or two day's if it work's for you. headace's are not fun !

Hi I was just reading your article, It caught my eye.  I will tell you the very best piece of advice for everyone but especially for you.  I have been headache free and free from sinus problems and asthma since I have removed all toxic cleaning and personal care products from my house, my sons sinus are also alleviated.  Most people are not aware that as soon as you bring a cleaning product or apply a lotion , makeup, deodorant, shampoo or wash your clothes in laundry detergent that is filled with synthetic chemicals, It is absorbed into the skin.  Our produts are so hazardous to us and we are exposed to them all day long.  I have helped many families now get the toxic chemicals out of their house too.  I found a company that their products are spectacular, and priced just liked the grocery store. I will give you my email and a couple of sights to view.  Also autism has doubled in 30 yrs add/adhd running rampant in our schools and linked to chemicals in personal care products.  Asthma has gone up 600% since 1980 - direct link to indoor air pollution.  I just read this they found an average of 287 chemicals in babies umbilical cords, unbelievable-- are products are not regulalted -- only 2% of 72,000 synthetic chemicals have been tested for short and long term effects on us!  We have had a few ladies that were suffering from strange/ constant headaches and our now gone.  Either way this would help your health but I have seen some amazing things happen when you are no longer exposing yourself in your family.  They just had 2 News shows on toxic chemicals in personal care and cleaning products within the last 2 weeks.  My email is frankfam04@yahoo.com and here are a few sites that might interest you:
Sincerely Kelly
