I read your response to the post about exercising.  You mentioned that you panic in regard to eating.  Could you share your story with me?  I had what I believe to be an allergic reaction to crab a few months ago.  I will get blood test results tomorrow.  However, for the two months I have been getting increasingly afraid to eat for fear of being allergic to something.  Yesterday I managed to eat some rice.  It's not typical to suddenly become allergic to many foods as an adult, is it?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cindy, allergies can appear at any age of life unfortunately. I just recently developed an allergy to anything that has strawberries (I get red rashes) where before they never bothered me. What sort of reaction did you have with the crab?

Sherry,

I started feeling "odd", then my palms started itching and got very red, the soles of my feet were itchy and red, hives on my lip and face.  I felt kind of faint and a red, splotchy rash went up my arms.  I know that it wasn't a bad reaction, but that they can get worse if you eat that food again.  Shellfish allergies often come on in adulthood, and I know you can acquire other food allergies as an adult.

I'm having a lot of panic and anxiety.  Thinking that if I eat anything at all I'm going to react and die.
