Hi
I am asthmatic & also have Parkinson's Disease. For 8 months now (since an adverse reaction to anaesthetic for major abdominal surgery) I have had a  persistent productive cough which has been treated with oral Prednisolone & inhaled steroids (Symbicort) 4 lots of antibiotics and Singulair to no avail. I have had a CT scan. bronchoscopy, chest xray, blood tests & repeated sputum tests.

I have now been taken off all medication (other than Pergolide & Azilect for my PD) and am shortly going into hospital for a course of treatment with inhaled xylocaine as my airways are so hypersenstive.

Has anyone out there had this treatment? If so how successful were the results & did you encounter any problems/side effects?

Thanks for any input
