I ATE AT A SALAD BAR LAST NIGHT (AT A VERY GOOD RESTURANT)AND about 30-45 MINUTES MY MOUTH STARTED TO FEEL FUNNY AND MY TONGUE STARTED TO BLEED.  I KNOW THAT I AM ALLERGIC TO SHRIMP AND STAY FROM IT.  HOW CAN I BE SURE I AM NOT GETTING SOMETHING THAT I AM ALLERGIC TO?  MY TONGUE BLED FOR about 2 HOURS AND HAD A BIG BLOOD BLISTER ON IT.  IT WAS BETTER THE NEXT MORNING. PLEASE HELP!

It's always a big risk to eat at restuarant especially if you have food allergies because the food is prepared in the same area of which food you are allergic to. I don't have much advice other then to avoid restaurants that serve seafood, but even then you can't be guaranteed that it hasn't come in contact with shrimp at some point or another.

Hello Brown I hope that you are feeling better at this time. Many restraunts will try to accomodate your allergies, if they are aware that you have allergies to food. You can call restaurants in advance to speak to someone to see if the restaurant will accomodate your needs as a person with allergies. Take Care Phoelona
